Chapter Information
Lenape Lodge, starting on September 1, 2026, will be moving to a Chapter model that will be aligned with the 4 districts of Garden State Council. A chapter is an operational arm of the lodge, and each chapter will have certain responsibilities that will provide additional opportunities for all Arrowmen of Lenape Lodge to make deeper connections with the youth in their district, and so Arrowmen don’t need to drive an exorbitant distance to experience the fellowship and connection that the OA provides.
At the 2026 Summer Fellowship Weekend, the youth members of each chapter came together and elect a slate of Chapter Chief, Chapter Vice Chief, and Chapter Secretary. These youth leaders will be trained throughout the summer and early fall, and the chapters will swing into full effect towards the end of the fall 2026 and into the spring of 2027.
The main place of registration of all members remains LENAPE LODGE, not in each respective chapter. Chapters are meant to enhance the local support to units and members that the lodge can provide, and in no way, shape, or form can replace the value and purpose of the lodge. This page will be updated throughout the fall to show the leadership, calendars, and information for each chapter.
The main mode of communication that the chapters will be utilizing going into the fall of 2026 will be the New OA App. This communication will be backed up through word-of-mouth, flyers, and emails! Please look out for emails from your Chapter Chief for more information about YOUR chapter!

The main purpose of a chapter is to be the arm of the lodge that can better serve the members and units of a more localized area. Garden State Council stretches all the way from Bordentown to Cape May, and with that comes much land and space. Chapters allow for events to be held closer to the Arrowmen, especially for week-night fellowship events or district service events, and enables units to more effectively retain their members.
Lenape Lodge and the Scout Executive of Garden State Council decided to make the decision to move to chapters now because after long deliberations, we have reached a state in our lodge where we can support, and need, chapters. We are not as effectively serving units as well as we should, and chapters will help fix this. We are not supporting our districts well, chapters will help fix this. We have neglected the most important brotherhood opportunities, weeknight fellowship events, and chapters will help to provide these. All of these factors have convinced the Lodge Leadership that this change is worth the work.
Chapters are advised to use the NEW OA APP as the main form of communication with chapter members. Through this app, people can find the Chapter, Lodge, Section, Region, and National OA calendars, and they can receive push notifications from the chapter and the lodge. The other forms of communication that will be readily used for chapters will be email and word of mouth. Chapter coordination with the leadership of the chapter can be figured out by each chapter’s leadership, but slack can still be used for those types of coordination.
No! Chapters cannot and do not charge an extra fee to attend events and be a member. By paying your dues in Lenape Lodge, you also renew your membership in the chapter.
Sometimes vacancies will occur in the offices of the chapter. If a chapter chief is not elected, then a Chapter Chief will be appointed by the lodge chief to serve in the position until the next meeting of the chapter, where they will then hold an election to elect a long term chapter chief. If there is a vacancy in any other office, the Chapter Chief (with consultation and approval of the Lodge Chief and Chapter Adviser) will appoint a person to those respective offices.
